A Proposal for the Improvement of the Copper Coin
That the Coin of the finest British Copper be in Copper and Workmanship the full value of the Copper.
That the Coin be made on each Side Concave with the Device or Figure on each Side in the Center, the Edges rising so high as {illeg}to preven{illeg}t the Device or Figure from w{illeg}earing, thus may our Copper Coin be Transmitted to future Ages undefaced An Advan{illeg}tage wan{illeg}tting in the Coins either of the Athenians or the Romans.
That the Copper Coin be hence forward a series of His{illeg}tory, Commencing a{illeg}t the Glorious Revolu{illeg}tion in {illeg}the Year 1688.
That a number of Dyes be made with Devices and Motto's, respec{illeg}ting each Ac{illeg}tion, worthy of Notice from tha{illeg}t time {illeg}to this inclusive.
One hundred Tuns of Copper Coind will supply the presen{illeg}t wan{illeg}t & Transmi{illeg}t{illeg}t {illeg}to lates{illeg}t Pos{illeg}teri{illeg}ty 50 oz too memorable Transac{illeg}tions, if One or Two Tuns of Copper be S{illeg}tuck on Each
Two Tuns of Copper will s{illeg}ticke 896,000 halfpence and 1,792,000 Far{illeg}things, if Coin'd in equall weigh{illeg}t, they may {illeg}togeather be Called 2,688,000 Medalls, a Number sufficient {illeg}to perpetuate the memory of any Transac{illeg}tion
Twen{illeg}ty or Five, & Twen{illeg}ty Tuns ꝑ Ann s{illeg}truck every Year af{illeg}terwards will keep up a necessary S{illeg}tock of Copper Coin
Thus will this his{illeg}toricall Coin be con{illeg}tinued {illeg}to Pos{illeg}terity
