The Information of Ann Costen of Monmouth Street. in ye ꝑish of St Giles's in ye fields in the County of Middx Spinster taken this 22d day of April Anno Dni 1700
Who saith that Mrs Stone wife of Mrs Stone of Stevens Ally in Kings Street Westmr Taylor, came to this Informt into Monmouth Street aforesd. upon fryday morning last, and cheapned some head Clothes, and in the evening of the same day ye. sd Mrs Stone came again to this informt, and bought a shirt of her and gave her this Informt the counterfeit crown piece (Now produced in paymt. & upon Saturday morning last ye sd Mrs Stone came again to ys Informt and asked her if she had no better head Clothes who replyd you are a woman that bought a shirt of me last night, but a woman that was wth the sd Mrs Stone sd that she would make oath to the contrary and a little while afterward the sd Mrs stone & woman came by this Informt shop & ys Informt stopt the sd Mrs Stone in Order to make her change the sd counterfeit crown piece but the sd Mrs Stone denyd that ever she had paid this Informt any money or ever seen her before that time & ys Informt doth believe that the sd Mrs Stone knew the sd crown piece to be a counterfeit one, wn she paid away the same to ye Informt
