John Holland: Untitled, 8 March 1701/2
[Editorial Note 1]March 8th 170 {sic} John Holland saith, that Charles Turmall, William Hescroft and John Coses has been very sollicitous to desire him to assist then in the business of counterfeiting Guineas, and says that they have bought flasks & Spand for this purpose. And says yt yesterday the said Hescroft & Cosens did perswade him to go to work upon ye silver trade and that he has in some measure encouraged the undertaking with design to discover the illegall practises hereof and to secure and aprehend ye said persons and that he cannot be quiett from their importunitys to joyn with them. The date is recorded as March 8th, 1700/1, but this should be 1701/2.
