Copy of order to produce account of the Mint following the death of the assaymaster
To the Most Honourable the Lord High Treasurer of Great Britain.
May it please your Lordship
By the Indenture of the Mint the Warden and Master & Worker are directed to account yearly, and by a late act of Parliament they are ordered to exhibit copyes of such accounts to the Commissioners appointed as other Accomptants are.
Her Majesties Assay Master having been dead above twelve months, and his place having been supplied ever since and long before his death by Charles Brattle his Brother for enabling the Warden & Master to complete their Accounts for the year ending at Christmas last, we humbly pray that your Lordship will be pleased to appoint such allowances as your Lordship shall think fit to the said Mr Brattel & his Clerk for their service for the said year. The salary of the Queens Assaymaster upon the Indenture of the Mint being 200li. per annum & that of his Clerk 200li per annum
