Francis Ilseley of Gloverstone in ye County of Chester Socksmith and later Engeneer to his Mats late Mint in the Castle of Chester being Examd upon Oath saith that the great brass Engine or Instrumt Now ꝑduced to him at ye time of this Exaīacōn haveing a strong Iron Screw at the One End of it, and part of ye other End being melted away, is ye body or Carcass of a Press for Coyning of Money, and to ye best of this Depon>ts Judgm.t was made and designed for that use and purpose Francis Ilsley
