Draft letter from Newton to the Treasury commissioners regarding a petition by Francis Moore
<2:19r>
My Lords
I have considered the annexed Petition & find that the Petitioner did apprehend Wm Hawkins & James Harrison & by taking a journey of 36 miles to Lincoln Assizes & staying there a week with his witnesses did prosecute them to conviction & the estate he petitions for amounts to about 10£ per annum & is not yet seized for his Majesties use & I beleive that suitable rewards such as may be a lease of this estate for so many years as your Lordships shall think fit may tend to encourage Gentlemen in the Country to Serve his Majesty more readily in these matters.
